The school is very well equipped with Computing resources. We have two dedicated ICT teaching areas, allowing for all students to work on their own machines, along with a further multi-access area that caters for smaller groups. Our Engineering department also has both rooms fully equipped with laptops so that whether it's graphics or CAD, the students have access to the latest hardware and software. Our Year 5 block also has two trolleys of laptops and a trolley of iPads devoted specifically for the Year 5 children.
Our wireless network throughout the school supports the use of mobile devices in all areas. We currently have a number of laptop and iPad trolleys that are used throughout the school by all subject areas.
Key Stage 2 Computing
We use the successful and very popular Switched on Computing course with our Key Stage 2 children. This provides six half-term projects each year for the children to work on. The topics cover a wide range of modern Computing themes and are designed to engage and challenge the students.
Key Stage 3
At Key Stage 3, Computing becomes a component of the Engineering subject. Details of what is studied during these years can be found here.
