Principal (Acting) - Julian Axford
Robert Bloomfield Academy, Shefford, Bedfordshire, is a thriving and successful school in a vibrant local Community. Our achievement in being graded "Outstanding" by OFSTED in 2008, 2009 and now for the third consecutive time in 2014 supports our commitment to high standards and academic Excellence.
Our results and academic standards are outstanding and we have wonderful facilities and an excellent learning environment – our teachers are of the highest quality. In 2009 we were designated a specialist Science, Maths and Technology school, under the banner of "Engineering". We were the first Middle School in the country to achieve specialist status. We have been designated a Teaching School for two years and reach out across Central Bedfordshire providing leadership support, professional development, teacher training, research and school to school support.
There are wonderful facilities here for your child, including four modern labs, a sports hall, a floodlit Astroturf (MUGA), a modern café, new design facilities, a music ICT suite, a Studio Theatre, new engineering and design suites (including laser cutters and 3D printers) and new art & design facilities.
We are very pleased and excited to be opening our new Year 5 specialist block of classrooms for the pupils joining us from their Lower Schools in September 2015. Our new Reception and Learning Resource Centre will also be completed shortly together with newly extended facilities for Art and Design.
See how to book these facilities.
Most importantly, we are a caring Community that values each child and provides them with the Opportunity to fulfil their potential and enjoy learning. We welcome you and your child to our community and I am confident it will be a successful partnership.
